Ebay

Over the next few weeks I will be auctioning off some of the outfits I wore in AM Radio and Ridel High during photos shoots, music videos and concerts. Own a little piece of history and help me clean out my closet.

Also, I just dug up some old AM Radio merch! Here's the place where it's all going down: http://myworld.ebay.com/monstersunderyourbed

Thanks and KEEP IT ON THE UP! (the bid price, that is)

Half-Mast Salute!!

Right now Jason and I are carrying the AM Radio flag. Until we decide what our next step is, please check out our new band JFK. Please standby. (You might actually want to sit down. This may take a while)

On a side note: This week I played a show with Jason; had a BBQ with Bryce; exchanged emails with Rowan; and traded text messages Joe. After all these years, we're all still in contact.

Demo-lition Derby

In our weekly get togethers to write, record and jam, Jason and I have come up with 2 new AM Radio songs, CHOOSE LOVE & COUNTED. Both have a soulful, almost Gospel sound. I had emailed an mp3 of CHOOSE LOVE over to Guy and he emailed back a bridge and an outro section. He's begun the process of  making "real" recordings of the new AMR songs, which is long overdue.

J and I also tracked drum loops and guitars to DON'T STOP (WITH THE BEAT) & BEND IN THE WIND last night. In the next week or so, we should have 4 rough demos on our hands. If any are even remotely listenable we will post them, so everyone can hear just what the heck we've been up to this past year.

In other news, J and I are only a few weeks off from printing our JFK album. We just need to fix a few minor things like correct some of the Japanese lyrics and compress the vocal tracks.

Our Musican's Spotlight appearance, mentioned in the last update, should be posted any day now at  http://www.thewebshownetwork.com/ (please standby).

Musician's Spotlight

This past Sunday, Jason and I (Kevin) appeared on a new webcast show called Musician's Spotlight, hosted by Bridgetta Tomarchio from "Project My World". We conducted a short interview and performed our new song 'Bend In the Wind'. The show will be viewable next week at: http://www.thewebshownetwork.com/

New demos

Jason and I are going to start demo-ing some of the new AM Radio songs, since the actual recordings are taking way longer than expected. It turns out that we both had already programmed the drums to ’Bend In The Wind’ without each other knowing. That’s tonight’s project. Please standby.

JFK

Jason and I (Kevin) just added life to a project of ours called JASON FEAT. KEVIN, or more simply, JFK. Both having home studios, we had recorded roughly 25 songs in 2006, without even being in the same room together. First he tracked all the music at his home, and then I added the vocals at mine.

This past Wednesday we shot some video footage for a few guerilla-style music videos that Jason is putting together. Next week we will have our very first rehearsal! You can check out some of the songs and watch the music videos here: www.myspace.com/jfeatk

Reknowned for juggling many music projects at once, I had another recording project with a friend from northern California, Robert Crook, called PIRATE AND NINJA. From 2004 to 2006 we traded wav files across the internet and came up with about 15-20 tunes. You can listen to some of those songs here: www.myspace.com/pirateandninja

Pre-production - Week 6

Granted we're only getting together once a week because of the distance Guy and Adam travel, we still have managed to prep 3 songs (Don't Stop, Another Love Song, Bend In the Wind) for recording. Also,  there are a few others in the works.

Our current (highly negotiable) plan is to start recording on March 15th. More on that as it unfolds.

Jason has been making some cool videos for AM Radio songs in his spare time. Just click on the song link below to check them out:

The Stalker     Crazy In Love     Anytime At All     Hit The Bricks

End Of The World     Stole The Show

There are 3 book recommendations of mine (Kevin) relating to music on Bullz-eye.com here. You have to scroll down the page until you find my picture. Happy reading!

3 Songs In the Bag

After our 5th pre-production rehearsal last Wednesday, we have 3 songs (Don't Stop, Bend In the Wind, Another Love Song) good to go for recording. The new AM Radio songs mess around with fun, new music styles: a little country, a little funk, a little 70's. Next Wednesday we start fine tuning the remaining 2 songs.

Big props to Adam who drives 1-1/2 to 2 hours every Wednesday for AM Radio practice. Now that's dedication! Please stand by...

Pre-production Update and Stuff

AM Radio just had our 3rd rehearsal of the year. Yeehaw! Seriously though, we will begin recording a 5 song EP (working title: 'Push Play') as soon as the songs are up to speed. Guy, the in-band producer, is really cracking the whip on everyone, myself (Kevin) included.

Please check out the cool new video of 'Anytime At All' Jason put together of old school footage. More vids to come. Stay tuuu... er, please standby.

Short and Sweet

Even though it was supposed to be 'Kevin & Friends', we were billed on the Roxy Theatre marquee (and then introduced) as 'AM Radio'. Just before the curtains rose, the stage manager informed us that we only had 27 minutes to perform. Then 2 more minutes went by. We cut our set down to just the AM Radio and Gospel songs, since those were the most polished. Coincidentally, the band after us had cancelled and we could have played longer. The irony of life never ceases to amaze me. Years and wisdom have taught me to roll with such occurrences, and to even enjoy the comic value they offer.

It was really awesome to be up there on stage with Jason, Rowan, Guy and Adam. Expect some fun stuff in 2008!!

The next day, since we had just played a show, everyone had taken their gear home with them. A pipe burst in the bathroom above our rehearsal room, here at my house. Water poured down from the ceiling and would have trashed everything (if it were still there). Once again, an example of the Lord working in strange, mysterious ways. Amen.

Kevin & Friends

Good times at the M Bar! It was a trip down memory lane for everyone, especially me (Kevin). I haven't played Ridel High and Peel songs for a long, long time. Jason, Guy, Adam and I were joined on stage by Christa Engelskirch (THE MAN) for 180; and by Rowan for the AM Radio and Gospel songs.

There will be a repeat performance on Thursday, December 27th at The Roxy Theater in West Hollywood, CA. Stay tuned for more details!

Here's the setlist: SELF DESTRUCTIVE, 180, SET EM UP, NIGHTMARES, I JUST WANNA BE LOVED, TAKEN FOR A RIDE, HUSH, PRETTY STUPID, IN YOUR NAME & DUST.

Relaunch of amradioonline.net

Welcome to the brand new amradioonline.net, courtesy of Alex Carroll.

Earlier this year AM Radio released a new album "Reactive" in Japan on Fiveman Army (FAEC Inc.) and Kevin signed a publishing deal with Sony Music Japan.

After playing a small string of shows in Los Angeles, the guys are in the rehearsal studio writing a new album's worth of AM Radio songs. More exciting stuff to come in 2007. Stay tuned!
